who are they?
kawoshin is the ship between kaworu nagisa and shinji ikari from neon genesis evangelion.

shinji ikari is an awkward and fragile teenage boy struggling with self esteem issues. he is constantly put through traumatizing situations that increasingly push his limits. at one of his lowest points, lost and desperate for connection, he meets kaworu nagisa, a mysteriously serene, idealized and perfect loving figure to shinji. kaworu represents a rare moment of peace, and someone for shinji to open up to amidst isolation and suffering.
why do i like them?
well, i find them comforting. it's rare, if ever, for anyone to unconditionally love shinji for who he is, and genuinely wish for his happiness without expecting anything in return the way kaworu does. kaworu is the first person to ever tell shinji the words "i love you". shinji becomes familiar with several people in his life, but the only person he has been entirely at ease with and trusting of is kaworu.
